Sponsor Pin Program "SPP"
The Sponsor Pin Program of the Sydney Olympic Games

Beginning in 1999, employees of Sydney Olympic Games sponsors will have the opportunity to purchase Sydney Olympic pins from among a select group of participating Olympic sponsors. The Sponsor Pin Program is an initiative developed by SOCOG, its pin licensees and sponsors to provide an opportunity for Sydney Olympic Games sponsors and SOCOG employees to purchase official Sydney Olympic sponsor pins.
A "Pin Champion" will be appointed by each sponsor to be the focal point for distribution of pin catalogs, placement of orders and general inquiries. Employees will be entitled to directly place orders for Olympic sponsor pins through the Pin Champion for their company.
Employees will be entitled to purchase two of each style of pin with a minimum of three pins per order. Each participating sponsor will determine which selection of Olympic sponsor pins will be available for employees to purchase through this program. Olympic pins selected by the various sponsors for inclusion in the program may be sourced from previously manufactured designs or may use pins designed exclusively for this program. Framed sets of pins may also be available to purchase in the future through the program.
The Sydney Olympic pins available in the first wave of sales were featured in a poster created to promote the launch of the Sponsor Pin Program last December at The Pinworkx located in "The Rocks" area of Sydney. A limited Sydney Olympic pin was also distributed to the Pin Champions who attended the launch of this unique pin program.
Some of the participating Sydney Olympic Games sponsors in this program include: Coca-Cola, Fuji-Xerox, VISA, Kodak, IBM, Pacific-Dunlop, Channel 7 Sydney, Panasonic, UPS, McDonald's, Westfield Shoppingtowns, AGC, Telstra, energyAustralia, AMP, BHP, The Sydney Morning Herald (Fairfax), Ansett, 2UE Radio, Fosters, Holden and Bonlac Foods.
